Knife Crime Ignored
(March 20, 2019)Nationally ignored Warminster has suffered another knife crime last weekend at the Esso filling station adding to one just weeks ago at the One-Stop in Imber Road just around the corner a few weeks ago.
"The parliamentary great announcement that knife crime £100 million funding has arrived will be of no use to Wiltshire Police who are already seriously underfunded. They will not get a penny of this money," says former local councillor Paul Macdonald.
"To those of us that work at Esso garage and the One-stop in Warminster as well as others at neighbouring towns who have been attacked this is probably a real signal of the central government priorities."
"If we do not make the national headlines we do not count", said Paul.
"Well. Guess what? We do count. We serve our communities and so should our police with extra help not cutbacks."
"It is now time to ask our MP Dr Andrew Murrison which one of us all across Wiltshire is going to have to die until Wiltshire Police get more support?"

Police have announced that a man has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery at the Esso Garage, in East Street, Warminster on Sunday evening.
James David Reynolds, aged 41, of no fixed address, Warminster, has been charged with attempted robbery, possession of a knife, burglary and fraud.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court tomorrow (21/03/19).
