Grant Applications Need More Time
(May 25, 2020)Warminster Town Council give out annual grants and a former councillor is concerned that new local good causes that have emerged in the current coronavirus crisis my miss out.
"I have to admit that I forgot about this," said Paul Macdonald. "The deadline was the last week on the 22nd May."
Paul has contacted the town clerk using their website form asking for the deadline to be extended.
In the message he wrote 'Dear Fiona, With all that is going on I missed the grant application deadline.
'Could you ask Chris (Robbins) the new Mayor if the deadline could be extended and advertised again.
'There are so many people doing good work in our community at the moment.'
Paul is still following the old advice of 'Stay Home' only venturing out to do an occasional food shop, help an elderly couple at Crockerton, and go to work as an essential worker.
"I liked to remind good causes when I was a councillor about this opportunity.," added Paul.
He also supports local the food bank with a monhtly donation by standing order.
"I am only putting about £6 worth of fuel in my car each month so I will be increasing that donation.
"I hope the town council will spend their grants wisely. Well done the Warminster Action Group."
