Pound for Pound is Poundland Worth the Effort

(July 30, 2020)

A once ‘Cinderella’ Warminster has borne the impact of the Covid-19 economic challenge to its commercial enterprises with shops, both small and independent, and national outlets enjoying a huge amount of support from its residents.

“I have just learnt that within a few days of the extra safe facemark wearing introduction that a shop in the Three Horseshoes Mall is threatened with closure in up to a fortnight,” said former councillor Paul Macdonald.

“Long before this pandemic I have always been happy to pay an extra few pence or even pounds to support local independent family owned shops like Cordens, Robbins the Butcher, The Ink Shop, and the fruit and veg man in the Mall.

“I like shopping at Poundland for things that I cannot any longer find at shops that have disappeared.

“Good location, helpful staff, and good value would be my motto for them.”

Poundland have been in the heart of the Wiltshire town shopping centre for years. and after moving out of their original bigger home and teaming up with another company, re-opened before many others in the UK during the easing of the restrictions.

“I just feel that Warminster will become the Cinderella town once again if others follow. Why Warminster?,” questioned Paul.

“Rally now within a few days and then if the campaign gathers support I really believe we can get this changed by getting the Poundland owners and those who run the Three Horseshoe Mall to sort this out.”
