Long queue at Post Office
(November 29, 2008)THE long queues in W H Smith this morning once again exposes the folly of closing all but one of the town’s post offices.
At one point the line stretched to the door and included 35 people and only three windows were in use.
Of course at this time of the month many people have just been paid and are settling bills but this is clearly unacceptable.
At one time Warminster had a crown PO, and sub offices at the Obelisk, Boreham Road, The Naafi and at Warminster Common.
Demand has been swelled because so many villages such as Sutton Veny, Stockton, Chitterne, Chapmanslade, Kingston Deverill has also lost their post office services since 1996.
