Ventriloquist's new year party

(January 14, 2009)
One of the events that sets the cultural year in Warminster off to a good start sees a specialist act take centre stage writes Paul Macdonald.

"We have a real treat this year," Imperial Charity's David McCance told visionforwarminster.co.uk.

"Roger DeCourcey's niece Donna-Marie, a brilliant ventriloquist in her own right, will be appearing."

Each year the charity which prides itself on 'caring for people with special needs' holds a New Year party at the Assembly Hall.

This Sunday afternoon they take over the Assembly Hall for a buffet and cabaret which is free to senior citizens and people with special needs.

For two-and-one-half hours the charity provides entertainment relying on ticket sales to local people to help cover the costs.

This year the tickets are on sale at the Tourist office, Coates and Parker and John Loftus Property Service.
