United Services Club goes under the hammer
(March 25, 2009)A once popular social club comes under the hammer tomorrow (Thursday) but it will not be builder wielding it, not yet anyway, as an auction takes place.
Run by a committee made up of local people the United Services Club in Imber Road provided the town with a reasonably priced dance floor which could also hold wedding parties and the like.
It was a popular venue for skittles, darts and pool but having been empty for a long time it is now being put on the market to the highest bidder under an auctioneer's gavel
