WARMINSTER Town Hall has new owner shock
(July 26, 2009)VISIONFORWARMINSTER has been reliably informed that the Town Hall is under new ownership.
The new owners are believed to be a financial institution which will be keen to dispose of the asset earlier rather than later.
“I hope the news is true and that the local community can get behind the idea of bringing this most important building back into the public domain,” said Steve Dancey, who has long championed this cause.
“This building is at the very heart of the town and holds the key to restoring civic pride in the town.
“I’m optimistic that things are at last moving in the right direction in Warminster so I’m hopeful.
“With the commercial property market in the worst downturn in decades we will never have a better opportunity to acquire this building.
“What we don’t want is a greedy property developer getting his or her hands on it and using the building for private profit rather than public good.”
