VFW website enjoys surge in popularity in November
(December 06, 2009)UNLIKE other websites we are not at all coy about publishing our readership statistics. This is because we are not an advertising based site so it doesn't matter commercially - we are also open and honest and like people to know as much as possible. (Unlike some people)
This month's figures show a dramatic increase in readers and we are well on target to reaching our goal of more than 1,000 unique users per month.
In November the number of users was boosted significantly as a result of carnival and remembrance coverage, the on-line poll and several links in from other web-pages, in particular the Warminster forum and Warminster-web - so thank you kindly.
The average number of visits per day was 80 in November and a staggering 14,000 pages were read in comparison to just 2,000 in December 2008.
''I don't expect these high figures to be sustained in December as people have other things on their minds but we are planning to step up a gear next year with impartial but critical General Election coverage, which should further boost traffic,'' said vfw co-auther Steve Dancey.
''Our on-line poll attracted more than 220 votes in just four days and we will be doing further work in this area.''
