Area board meeting snowed off
(January 14, 2010)THE meeting of the Warminster area board, which was scheduled to take place in Christchurch hall on Monday 14 January, was cancelled.
The reason given was road conditions.
''I had planned to attend this meeting but when I arrived at the hall the gate was across the car park and the hall was dark,'' said VFW's Steve Dancey.
''Having just driven more than 35 miles across Salisbury Plain I can confirm that there were no problems whatsoever with ice on any of the roads.
''However the situation coming in from the Maiden Bradley area could well have been significantly worse as that village is in such an elevated position.''
The next Warminster board is scheduled for early March
