Better youth transport planned?
(March 02, 2010)Extra money is being made available by the local authority via its Warminster area board to provide better opportunities for young people.
An extra £100,000 has been added to the youth services budget.
It will be divided up among 18 area boards with a focus on transport for young people so they can get to services like youth clubs.The police already offer the chance with their two hours of blues n zuz discos in Warminster for 12-16-year olds. The next one is on 17th March at the Farmers Hotel function room 'The Stables' or the town's football club in Weymouth Street.
Two buses are provided heading from Codford on one side of the town and Horningsham on the other with several village pick up points.
Now the area board will be asked to add to the success of this scheme with their own version.
*The Warminster area board meets this Thursday at Dewey House in North row at 7pm.
