Town centre problem area tackled by WETS
(July 11, 2010)IT may have been hot and bone dry in Warminster but it was still a WET
weekend for half a dozen volunteers who took part in the town centre
tidy on Sunday.
Members of Warminster Environment Team Services tackled the area behind the CAB building and the footpath linking it to the Bath Arms car park.
Last year the path was in a dreadful state with bags and bags of litter but this time round it was mostly weed growth and the ubiquitous cigarette butts.
''We made quite short work of it this time round,'' said George Jolley, who was joined by Chris March, Tony Field, Mike Allardice, Paul Macdonald and Steve Dancey.
Next month's target area will be The Avenue.
