New group mirrors VFW's Civic Pride agenda
(October 26, 2010)Fairy tales sometimes start in the most unusual places as the
co-authors of visinforwarminster have now discovered after they wrote
about the need for civic pride.
Another one of their initiatives has seen meetings being held at
Dewey House in Warminster leading to the 'environmental pride team'
being set up that mirrors their vision.
Now the team have agreed to adopt the 'No such thing as the Dog
Poo Fairy' design as they try to encourage rather than enforce
responsibility on 'man's best friend' owners (see hot topics August
4th)..
The small team have booked a pitch at the Christmas market and are
asking for volunteers to help by giving two hours of their time to
spead the message.
"I welcome the work that is being done, " says vfw co-author Paul Macdonald.
"I hope that at very little cost to the ratepayer a lot can be
achieved. I remember as a twelve-year-old being a member of the Keep
Britain Tidy group."
*The contact point for volunteers and those who wish to help is the Warminster area board manager at Wiltshire Council.
