Queensway play area on track at last

(March 06, 2011)
IT MAY have been a 'swings and roundabouts' politically but at last the 'i's and 't's can be finally be dotted this Wednesday at a parish hall meeting in Warminster.

"I have been working very hard with others to get the Queensway play area improved and having put forward local choices I am pleased that there is this last chance to tweak the plans," says community campaigner Paul Macdonald.

At St. John's Hall in Boreham Road between 6.30pm and 7.30pm Wiltshire Council 'play-builder' staff will be on hand to listen to final comments on the proposed additional equipment aimed at encouraging children to play.

"There is something very special about this achievement after the new 'Con-Dem' government did one u-turn after another and then allowed this to go ahead," says Paul.

"My commitment to ask the locals what they want saw me put forward their ideas but with the best will in the world I cannot chat to everyone.

"It would be good if those I have spoken to as well as others went along to look at what will be achieved."

The Wednesday evening meeting will then be the final springboard used by Wiltshire Council to provide the extra play area for eight-to-thirteen year-olds
