Heyesbury man's Salisbury booksigning
(June 24, 2011)Local author Chris Piechowski will be signing copies of his book “Poles Apart” at Waterstone’s Salisbury on Saturday 2nd July from 11am.
Mr Piechowski grew up in the village of Heytesbury in the 1950s and 60s before joining Wiltshire Constabulary as a cadet.
He rose to the rank of chief inspector and was the second in command of the Salisbury division in the 1990s. His father Henry was a well know figure in Heytesbury for many years living in Chapel Street.
His debut novel has already created great interest for it’s heartfelt and deeply compelling story, combined with the author’s own personal involvement in the family reunion around which the novel is based.
Waterstone's say it is a fascinating account of a family torn apart in Poland, suffering at the hands of both the Nazis and the Soviets, and well worth a read.
