Would be Tory MP's link with Warminster housing developers
(May 03, 2015)THE Conservative candidate for a neighbouring seat has business links with the companies seeking to develop thousands of homes on the west of Warminster - and in other overloaded Wiltshire towns.
Simon Hoare has been parachuted in to fight the North Dorset constituency to replace Robert Walter, who has stepped down.
Vision for Warminster has learned that Hoare is Managing Director of Community Connect, his own public affairs agency which works in the property development sector.
The company has dealings with Persimmon and Barratt.
Councillor Steve Dancey said: "Personally I would prefer neighbouring MPs not to be connected in any way with large housing developers who need no parliamentary help in gaining influence and in exerting pressure on our hard pressed strategic planners.
"In times past Conservatives selected those who were genuinely concerned with the 'one nation' and not individuals steeped in PR and housing developer lore like David Cameron, another Oxfordshire export.
"I hope electors' crosses in North Dorset are placed against another candidate."
*Robert Walter the retiring North Dorset MP also has Warminster links - He was educated at Lord Weymouth's School, now Warminster School.
